Do you feel lonely on a gluten-free diet?

"People aren't often good at making friends or keeping them." Simon Sinek

Do you ever find yourself posting videos on TikTok or Instagram and desperately wishing they'd go viral?

Are you searching for gluten-free friends?

Or popping a Story on Facebook and feeling disappointed when it hardly gets any love?

It's not uncommon for many people to do this. But it's even more difficult for people who can't have gluten because we fall into a smaller category. The likelihood isn't high of bumping into someone at the school gate or water cooler who has coeliac disease.

So what can we do?

Firstly, it's important to acknowledge to everyone you can't have gluten. This serves multiple purposes regardless of wanting to make friends - to keep us safe from harm when dining, to make sure we don't go hungry, to find new and exciting treats online etc...

But if you don't fancy wearing a badge or a t-shirt, there are other ways to ensure you get the community you need.

And it starts right here at Life on a Rice Cake.

I started my membership program back in July to help people who aren't able to have gluten have happier, healthier lives. And one of the components of that? Creating a community so everyone felt they had people they could turn to who are going through the same challenges.

And one of the tricks to feeling less lonely is not simply to seek out someone who can help. Instead, it's to find someone you can help. When you serve another person you'll notice how much better you feel.

So whether you're in the membership group sharing a restaurant you went to that was safe or a holiday where they truly understood your gluten-free needs, there's always something you can contribute that'll make you feel better.

And although you may not feel like it's a big contribution, anything you help someone else with will be truly appreciated. Sometimes it's the small gestures that make the biggest difference.

So if you're wondering what membership involves, I'd like to invite you to my next gluten-free webinar on how to live your best gluten-free life. You'll be my guest among others who are also gluten-free so you'll be right at home. All you need to do is click the button below. It'll be great to have you there!
